The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) participated in the REXTRO 2025 Exhibition, a premier technology and innovation showcase organized to highlight advancements in engineering, robotics, electronics, and related fields. The exhibition was held at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, attracting a large number of undergraduates, academics, industry professionals, and technology enthusiasts from across the country.

REXTRO 2025 provided a vibrant platform for universities, professional bodies, and industry stakeholders to exhibit emerging technologies, research outcomes, student innovations, and practical engineering solutions. The primary objective of the exhibition was to bridge the gap between academia and industry, encourage innovation among undergraduates, and create awareness of professional pathways in engineering and technology-related disciplines.
The IESL maintained a dedicated stall at the exhibition, where visitors were informed about the role of the Institution in regulating the engineering profession, promoting ethical practice, and supporting the continuous professional development (CPD) of engineers. The stall attracted significant interest from students and young innovators who were keen to learn about professional engineering qualifications, career development opportunities, and the benefits of being affiliated with the national professional body for engineers.
A key highlight of the IESL’s participation was the successful membership drive conducted during the exhibition. A large number of engineering undergraduates took the opportunity to enroll as IESL student members on-site, marking an important step in their professional journey. IESL representatives provided guidance on membership categories, pathways to corporate membership, and the long-term advantages of early engagement with the Institution.
